Job Purpose

The Used Car Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the used vehicle operations within the dealership. This includes managing the acquisition, pricing, and sales of pre-owned vehicles, ensuring profitability, maintaining inventory, and delivering excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities

•    Source and acquire quality pre-owned vehicles through trade-ins and other buying channels.
•    Maintain optimal inventory levels and manage stock turnover to minimize aging vehicles.
•    Ensure vehicles are prepared for sale through inspection, reconditioning, and necessary repairs.
•    Set competitive pricing strategies based on market research, demand, and vehicle condition.
•    Monitor market trends and adjust pricing to maximize profitability.
•    Develop and implement promotional strategies to drive used car sales
•    Drive sales performance by setting and achieving monthly sales targets.
•    Lead and motivate the used car sales team, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
•    Ensure a positive customer experience by maintaining high standards of professionalism and service.
•    Address customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns promptly and effectively.
•    Maximize gross profit margins on all used vehicles sold.
•    Work with the finance and insurance (F&I) department to structure deals that meet customer needs and profitability targets.
•    Monitor expenses and manage budgets related to used car operations
•    Maintain accurate records for vehicle purchases, sales, and reconditioning.
•    Oversee the preparation and submission of all required documentation, including titles and warranties.
•    Foster a collaborative environment between the used car department and other dealership teams.
•    Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the sales team, ensuring they have the tools and resources to succeed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Diploma / Bachelor Degree / Business Management, preferably in Automotive Industry.

Experience:

  • 8-10 years of sales experience within the automotive in similar roles, out of which at least 3 years must involve supervisory used car sales operations.
