Solutions Architect – IOT
Overview:
We are looking for an IoT Solution architect to join our smart city team. As an IoT solution architect, your role involves designing and developing hands-on solutions that integrate various IoT devices, sensors, and technologies. You are responsible for creating a comprehensive architecture that meets the specific requirements of the project, ensuring that the solution is scalable, secure, and reliable.
This is a unique opportunity to develop exciting smart city offerings for our customers and gain experience in the fastest growing smart city technology field. The role of the IoT Solution Architect is to design IoT reference architecture, technology selection, and vendor evaluation to help in creating effective, scalable, secure, and innovative smart city used cases for our customers. The IoT Solution Architect will also support in Presenting and communicating IoT design concepts and technology solutions to clients, sales team, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for an IoT architect with a deep technical knowledge, business acumen and delivery skills for smart city project:
- Designing and developing hands-on IoT architecture to integrate into various smart city use cases such as Energy, transportation, public safety, and environmental management etc.
- Working with cross-functional teams, conducting research on new IoT technologies and trends, and evaluating the feasibility of various solutions
- Analyzing and assessing technology requirements, including IoT devices, sensors, cloud computing, and data analytics, to ensure the effective implementation of IoT solutions.
- Evaluating the technical capabilities, reliability, scalability, and security of new technologies and vendors.
- Assessing the cost-effectiveness, return on investment, and alignment with the goals of the smart city project.
- Understanding the specific needs and requirements of different smart city use cases such as Smart Grids, Smart Parking, Command and control center and other IoT Offerings.
- Create all the necessary technical, sales collaterals and process documentation for the new smart city service offerings to enable our sales team and support our GTM strategy
- Defining and implementing security protocols and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and information across all use cases.
- Keeping abreast of emerging IoT technologies and industry trends and recommending technology solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers
- Conducting research and analysis to identify new and innovative technologies and vendors that can enhance the smart city service offering.
- Collaborating with other stakeholders, including procurement, legal, and security teams, to ensure proper due diligence and risk assessment is conducted.
- Conduct research and gather information about the technology and vendor, review whitepapers, case studies, and other relevant materials.
- Try out a demo, pilot program or a free trial if available, and test the product in a real-world scenario.
Mentoring teams of developers and engineers, providing technical guidance and support to ensure the effective implementation of IoT solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems Management (or other related technology degree) or equivalent field experience.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience, out of which 5 years in designing and implementing IoT solutions for smart cities or similar projects.
- Hands-on technical knowledge and experience in IoT products both enterprise grade IoT platforms such as Cummolicity, PTC and open-source platforms like Thingsboard, KAA etc.
- Strong understanding of IoT technology, including IoT architecture, protocols, and security.
- Deep understanding of Edge computing, communication protocols like
- Experience with Network protocols like MQTT, COAP, BACNET etc. and Network Infrastructure
- Deep understanding of Digital Twins & Artificial intelligence and how these integrate with IoT solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud computing, data analytics, and network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with IoT programming languages and software development methodologies.
- Experience in creating applications on top of IoT platform.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve project goal
- Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Expert in creating solution architecture diagrams and sales collaterals etc.
