As the new Regional Category Development Manager, you will accelerate the transformation agenda in Arla MENA driving the Customer marketing journey and step changing the understanding and focus on customer and shopper and leading capability development across the region. You will be the “voice of the customer” and own the shopper understanding agenda to support mutual growth for Arla and retailers and lead on regional initiatives providing the toolkits & frameworks for markets to adapt and execute strategies.

As the Category Development Manager for Arla Foods in MENA, your specific areas of responsibility will include:

  • Supporting Consumer Marketing in developing category strategies down to the channel level. –

Collaborate closely with the Consumer Marketing team to develop category strategies that are tailored to specific channels within the MENA market.

  • Developing full 4P category toolkits: Create comprehensive toolkits that cover all elements of the marketing mix (4Ps) for each category, including price and promotion strategies, distribution plans, and placement strategies.
  • Developing shopper toolkits: Ensure that shopper toolkits are developed in line with brand guidelines and key visuals (KVs), while also meeting the expectations of the MENA markets.
  • Developing Total Category POP solutions: Create and implement innovative and effective point-of-purchase (POP) solutions for the entire category, such as bread takeovers and category management plans.
  • Laying down guidelines for Perfect Store MSL & Planogram methodology/metrics: Establish clear guidelines and metrics for the Perfect Store minimum service level (MSL) and planogram methodology, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all stores.
  • Providing on-the-ground support for growth clusters/markets: Offer support to specific growth clusters or markets within MENA, working closely with the local teams to drive category growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Developing Trade Decks and NPD sell-ins: Create compelling trade decks and lead the sell-in process for new product development (NPD), ensuring alignment with category strategies and objectives.
  • Championing two of the following areas: Act as a champion for two specific areas among the 4Ps toolkit, Shopper Toolkit, Trade Decks, Perfect Store, Category Management, Instore POP solutions, or Shopper Behaviour.

Seasoned marketeer with leadership background

You have a degree or higher educational qualification with a solid FMCG experience of 8-10 years in business/commercial development, category management, sales, or marketing roles within the FMCG industry or retail sector. You have strong analytics on different data like Nielsen, EPOS , Kantar and category management experience and have implemented key category management initiatives with customers. With your Strategic thinking ability to you would like to shape the future of Dairy categories in-store. A good commercial acumen, strategic thinking along with passionate about getting into details, are some of the qualities you possess. You are fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English.
