Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Health Economics and Financing Research Group
As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Health Economics & Financing Research Group (HEFRG) at the Research Institute for Medical and Health Sciences (RIMHS), you are expected to contribute to a dynamic and multidisciplinary research environment focused on public digital health. You are required to bring expertise and experience in health software and systems, health policies, health service management, health economics, and financing research.
You are expected to support and coordinate ongoing epidemiological and digital health projects, as well as propose new research studies aligned with the interests of the group. This includes developing proposals, conducting research, and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in public health, digital health, and health economics and financing.
You are expected to participate in scientific analysis—preferably involving innovative technologies—and to contribute to the publication of the group’s research findings while following up throughout the publication process. Additionally, you will be responsible for carrying out assigned duties from group members in coordination with the group coordinator, ensuring effective collaboration within the team.
- Collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, and project coordinators to ensure the timely delivery of key project milestones and high-quality research output.
- To work with researchers within the research group to develop and disseminate original research that supports the group’s research agenda
- Prepare drafts of research ethical approvals
- Prepare drafts of research plans for grant applications
- Prepare drafts of research reports for publication
- Contribute and oversee field surveys and data collection
- Develop, modify, and update data collection tools and software for different projects.
- Lead on the data management and cleaning of datasets.
- Analyze both primary and secondary data under faculty supervision.
- Produce statistical outputs, tables, and visualizations of findings.
- Develop and deliver both written and visual outputs that are appropriate for different stakeholders.
- Write and draft scientific reports
- Assist in academic manuscript writing
- Has experience developing health software and implementing digital technology in the health field.
- Expertise in multi-level and integrated statistical data analysis and data management.
- Proficient with data analytics and statistical software and other advanced technology like machine learning
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and preferably Arabic.
- Excellent organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Educational background in either bioinformatics, medical informatics, epidemiology, public health, data science, biostatistics, or a related field
- Has worked on digital health-related projects previously.
- A publication record in peer-reviewed journals of recognized excellence
- Preferably to have community contacts with related organizations to enhance the production of research in the health industry.
