Middle East Tax Manager

Purpose of the Role
- Bolster the global tax team’s Middle Eastern presence, supporting Worley projects and locations in a/o Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Job Responsibilities
- Support developing and maintaining a regional tax control framework for our Middle Eastern entities.
- Work closely with regional and location finance teams, external tax advisors and other stakeholders in the region in relation to tax compliance, tax audit management and the six-monthly tax effect accounting process.
- Partner with regional operational teams on project related tax advisory matters.
Job Specific Knowledge / Experience (Essential)
- Proven practical experience in managing CIT, VAT & WHT reporting and compliance in the Middle East.
- Monitor developments in Middle Eastern direct, indirect and international tax legislation and administration and take appropriate action in respect of developments that may impact Worley.
Job Specific Knowledge / Experience (Desirable)
- Tax & Finance technology experience or affiliation is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills whereby the ability to read the Arabic language is a plus
- Strong team player. Mature, proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiatives
Where would we put these items?
- This role is preferably based in Worley’s Abu Dhabi’s offices although other GCC locations may be discussed.
- A hybrid work model can be discussed although candidates applying must be willing and able to have presence in Worley’s office in coordination with department and business needs.
- Reporting into an experienced EMEA Tax Director.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in tax accounting, tax law or related field.
- Relevant years of experience in an international environment with a Big 4 and/or in the tax department of an international company.
