Manager – Instructional Technology – Aldar Education

Job Description

The Manager of Instructional Technology plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation and day-to-day management of instructional technology initiatives across Aldar Education schools. This position works closely with the Head of Instructional Technology to execute strategic plans and provide hands-on support to educators in integrating technology into their teaching practices. The Manager will be instrumental in ensuring that technology enhances learning experiences, improves educational outcomes, and supports the overall mission of Aldar Education.

This role bridges the gap between high-level strategy and on-the-ground implementation, working directly with teachers, digital and technology teams, and school administrators to optimise the use of instructional technology. The Manager of Instructional Technology will be a key player in fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in the use of technology for education.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing the strategic vision for instructional technology set by the Head of Instructional Technology.
  • Coordinate professional development programs to enhance staff proficiency in using instructional technology.
  • Collaborate with educators to integrate technology effectively into curriculum and instruction.
  • Monitor and report on the usage and effectiveness of instructional technology tools and systems.
  • Support the evaluation and piloting of new educational technologies.
  • Ensure adherence to data security and privacy standards in all technology implementations.
  • Assist in budget planning and management for instructional technology initiatives.
  • Liaise between the digital and technology teams and educational staff to address technical issues and improve user experience.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify areas for technology integration improvement.
  • Provide direct support and coaching to teachers in the use of instructional technology.
  • Assist in creating policies and procedures for technology use in educational settings.
  • Coordinate with vendors to implement and maintain technology solutions.
  • Analyse data on technology usage and effectiveness to inform decision-making.
  • Organise and lead technology-focused workshops and training sessions for staff.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to instructional technology and escalate as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in educational technology, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proficiency in using LMS, SIS, and other educational technology platforms.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in educational technology.
  • Experience in designing and delivering professional development for educators.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools to assess the impact of technology initiatives.
  • Knowledge of educational pedagogy and how technology can enhance teaching and learning.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges in technology integration.
