Intern- Logistics (Imports)
Job Description
- Responsible for verification of import shipment documents for correctness, accuracy, and consistency.
- Responsible for timely clearance of all inbound shipments from overseas for TLBU, TUAE & TMME
- Responsible for delivery/call-off of locally procured supplies from local vendors
- Coordinate with clearing agents, freight forwarders, transporters, procurement, production, etc.
- Manage an assigned fleet of vehicles for imports and ensure its optimum utilization with reports
- Responsible for applying for and obtaining import permits for hazardous additives/non-bendable.
- Responsible for applying and obtaining duty exemption from MOFI.
- Maintain debit bank account and ensure timely submission of statement to accounts and top-up as required.
- Maintain traceability of data for all import consignments.
- Follow up shipments and documents with the freight forwarders and shipping lines
- The target of zero demurrage on dry containers and timely escalation of pending ISO tanks at the port.
- A reasonable understanding of the law and regulations surrounding Customs Clearing requirements.
- Verify the delivery of the imported product, once cleared, from the sea to designated warehouses or plant.
- Preparing periodic reports concerning Customs Clearance Section’s activities and achievements.
- Performing other duties related to the job.
- Timely clearance and documentation – target within three days of vessel arrival.
- Ensure timely delivery of additives from local vendors within 48 hours.
- Keep track of storage/demurrage & its escalation as required.
- In coordination with the plant, plan additive containers on a FIFO basis and ensure daily communication to all stakeholders.
- Manage duty exemption for all raw materials and bank debit card account
- Ensure adherence to customs rules & regulation.
- Data entry, Planning & circulation of import-related reports as required.
Context and environment
- Will be the key responsible for the day to day handling of import clearance and delivery with the key objective of”speedy service to sales meeting / exceeding the agreed service levels”

Skills :
- Good influencing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Good commercial skills, initiative, and confidence to interact with superiors.
Experience :
- Hands on experience in import clearance
Education :
- Bachelor’s Degree.
