The successful candidate will need:
- A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching IB at the high school level, preferably within an American/IB curriculum school.
- Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and hands-on education.
- Demonstrates successful leadership, organization, and management skills.
- Excellent communication, public relations, and collaboration skills.
- Exhibits a strong professional commitment to the successful implementation of the IB Diploma Program.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Exemplifies a strong work ethic with a willingness to contribute to the general welfare of the total School program.
- Maintains a positive, professional, and collaborative disposition that compliments the school and the GEMS organization.

We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic IB Coordinator to join our dedicated team in August 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about IB education and is eager to contribute to the academic success of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- To model and encourage a culture of kindness.
- To administer all aspects of the IBDP program, including:
- Maintaining complete records of IB publications.
- Ensuring that administrative procedures are carried out correctly and that deadlines are kept according to IBO instructions.
- Keeping copies of all correspondence with IBO including forms, documents, and reports.
- Coordinating all IB activities at the school.
- Liaising with those responsible for the timetable to ensure that the requirements of the IB are complied with in the timetable.
- Notifying the accounts department of IB payments due, where applicable.
- Keeping the Head of the school consistently informed of IB developments.
- Serving as a liaison between administration, staff, students, parents, and the IBO, and thus handling all relevant communication with the different IB offices.
- Being familiar with all IB procedures as listed in the Handbook.
- Contributing to the marketing of the program within and outside the school
- To communicate with parents and students
- To ensure student success within the program
- To support teachers
- To supervise the administration of IB assessments
- To manage the resources of the program
- Teaching load of two courses
