Parsons is looking for a Senior Contracts Manager to manage all contract and procurement activity for a secondment role with one of our key Clients in our Abu Dhabi sector. The Senior Contracts Manager will represent the Company and our Client in negotiations of a commercial and contractual nature. They must be experienced and capable in all commercial, contractual, legal, business, financial matters. This position may require travel to our Client’s offices or to the project site or to the Parsons Abu Dhabi head office as may be required throughout the duration of the assignment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage the procurement process from reviewing documents that form part of the RFP, obtaining any approval of documents, managing the tender process to ensure coverage of prices, benchmarking of prices received, conducting prospective supply chain interviews, recommending a tenderer for award, negotiating subsequent contract.
  • Negotiates contracts and subsequent contract modifications.
  • Draws upon their broad prior experience to effectively manage risk.
  • Uses their experience to negotiate equitable terms and conditions both upstream and downstream and advise stakeholders of why a condition / risk is best managed by a certain party.
  • Identifies risks, undertakes risk assessment and proposes mitigation strategies.
  • Manages the Parsons commercial team on the seconded opportunity.
  • Performs tasks required by the Client on an as needs basis.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in industry from a commercial and contractual experience within large international engineering and construction firms looking after infrastructure and residential projects.
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and commercial and contractual matters.
  • Possesses strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of standard software packages typically associated with contract administration.
  • Must be capable of independently managing complex commercial and contractual matters.
  • Proven ability for managing and directing work involving complex situations.
  • Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and negotiation of contracts.
  • Chartered by a recognized international body such as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) would be advantageous.
