About the Team
Careem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery, pharmacy and retail products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we’re in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space.
What you’ll do
  • Co-own the P&L of all categories with the buyside Category Managers
  • This person will be responsible for all category management inputs such as selection and price competitiveness, merchandising, promotions to drive the revenue as well as the margin for the category
  • This person will directly work with the Category buy side team, to provide inputs on assortment building based on selection gap, market trends etc , validating the current assortment based on data-driven insights generated from sales, customer data, market data etc.
  • This role involves managing the demand generation starting from driving the traffic to taking action for driving conversion for all categories
  • Responsible for driving the merchandising strategy for all the categories, driving the acquisition and retention targets for the categories and CRM strategy for all categories.
  • Responsible for driving the supply side selection metrics for all categories and driving the right selection width and depth for all categories.
  • Responsible for hyper localizing the selection based on the customer and market data
  • Responsible for driving the go-to-market for all launches and campaigns and events for the categories
  • Responsible for driving upsell, cross sell across categories and driving higher AOV for customers.
  • Responsible for pricing of all the products – enabling us to achieve our pricing competitiveness at the same time maintain guardrails of bottom line as well
  • You will also own and define the charter for pricing and drive the pricing related projects, representing the needs of the business
  • Responsible for deriving insights from the data, come up with new ideas to drive the selection, pricing, promotions and merchandising strategy of Quik

What you’ll need

  • At least 4+ years of experience in the e-commerce industry in marketing/growth/revenue/sell side role
  • Strong understanding of category Profit and Loss
  • Understanding and experience in sell side products online through promotions and merchandising
  • Very strong data understanding and analytical skills
  • You are an excellent communicator with strong influencing skills and stellar stakeholder management – You can easily explain complex concepts to people of any level
  • Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away
