Business Manager, Financial Management (UAE National)

This role will support the UAE team within Digital Business Services (DBS) COO in the delivering ongoing BAU requirement and submissions related to financial management. The main focus will center on engaging and following-up with different DBS stakeholders including Global Businesses (GB) and Global Functions (GF) as required within UAE.
Financial Management Business Manager provides dedicated, forward thinking financial and operational management support. The role holder ensures the smooth running of the function through proactive management of UAE budget, forecast and direct cost management. This role will form part of Chief of Staff area, supporting financial management responsibilities including cost reporting, review of headcount, budgeting and forecasting process, governance packs for senior management reviews, accruals and Cadency reviews, and other administrative aspects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Financial Management – ensuring all UAE financial targets are understood and actions can be taken as necessary, and Actuals vs. Plan managed monthly, including headcount.
• Development of UAE Financial Resource plans (FRP) and tracking UAE actuals
• Lead monthly UAE review of financials, including working with relevant UAE sub function to obtain further understanding of costs and annual budgets with appropriate rigor and challenge.
• Reviewing UAE cost center reports & sharing summary of observations and action plans
• Creating monthly UAE finance dashboards
• Lead UAE run-rate analysis, forecasting and annual plan process, and provide variance view and insightful commentary.
• Forecasting to identify challenges in meeting targets incl. headwind reporting for UAE.
• Review of indirect costs such as Group recharges, charges from Global Service Centres and other intercompany charges to UAE
• Co-ordinate the requirements for UAE Nationalization FTE plans & estimate the $ requirements for budget, post agreement with relevant stakeholders.
• Creation and achievement of operating plans, recommending cost savings approaches and actions to achieve financial plan and assist in their implementation.
• Taking ownership of Anaplan Financial submissions for UAE.
• Identify opportunities to drive cost reduction, resulting in sustainable saves and achievement of cost targets.
• Support the accruals process for the accounts based in UAE.
• Support UAE related reconciliations
• Own the third-party management budget for UAE Risk and Compliance incl vendor management and oversight.
• Work closely with local Finance & meet the demands/ reporting requirements related to UAE.
• Work closely with LoB to ensure they have transparency on the services and costs associated with the function related to UAE.
• Management and tracking of consultancy approvals and spend related to UAE.
• Maintaining excellent communication and engagement with multiple stakeholders.
• Support implementation of new reporting projects, reports, enhancements, changes
• Monitor and follow up on action items and sharing minutes of meetings and performing other governance activities.
• Assist in preparing key governance papers and following through actions.
• Build network and close working relationship with all stakeholders at function, business, and country levels.
The individual will need to be dynamic, and service oriented with a can do attitude. It will be a critical element to ensure that the individual can prioritise and ensure it meets the ongoing needs.
Experience & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong Financial background and experience is essential, including TM1 system, Qliksense and Anaplan
• Understanding the continually changing nature of the Risk & Compliance as a result of current regulatory and industry conditions requires very strong communication skills, the ability to absorb information quickly, and make intellectual connections among multiple projects and work streams.
• Excellent analytical skills and innovation
• Excellent financial reporting and presentation skills
• Ability to automate and streamline, identify and implement process improvement opportunities to contribute to cost savings, revenue enhancement and stakeholder experience improvement.
