Job Description

Job Summary.

Welder is expected to multitask various ranges of bit manufacturing welding processes , including but not limited to, TIG/MIG Welding, Hardfacing and Brazing.
Some manual grinding expertise may be required, such as holesizing operation and completion of hot work using oxy/acetylene equipment. Experienced in manufacturing products and components to specifications and printing using a variety of equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILTY & AUTHORITY:

  • Experienced  with various metal welding process
  • .Able to read technical drawings and engineering specifications
  • knowledge in using standard measuring instruments and inspection techniques
  • Assembling components to an engineering drawing and set procedures.
  • Make setups and adjustments to assure proper alignment of parts.
  • Lift, position, and secure work piece as needed to turn or balance.
  • Ensure his set-ups are approved by a senior operator or his Supervisor before he continues with his production welding.
  • Perform Operator Level Machine Maintenance.
  • Perform daily cleaning of his assigned area.
  • Adherence to NOV regulations and all QHSE requirements.
  • Flexibility to move to other operations and/or shifts or weekends as required.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in mechanical engineering/Technology
  • Metal fabrication or welding processes
  • Vocational training with 2 years of experience or desirable work experience.

Experience:

  • Previous operating experience in production processes or light/heavy fabrication environment would be advantageous.
  • Cable to demonstrate your ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and schematics as well as production shop practices and procedures.
