BIM Information Coordinator
Dubai, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BIM Information Coordinator to join our team! In this role you will get to perform various drafting assignments and support with design-related activities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
The key responsibilities for the BIM Information Coordinator role are to support our Project Delivery Teams and execute the day to day development, establishment, and implementation of BIM in our Dubai office. The BIM Information Coordinator will be responsible for the effective implementation and compliant adoption of BIM Standards, Production Methods and Procedures (SMP’s) both at an Organization and Projects level.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide progress and performance updates on fortnightly and monthly basis e.g. Client (Appointing Party) and Leads.
- Plan, manage, and document workshops and meetings related to BIM and Digital Engineering activities.
- Develop and support proposal leads in Request for Proposals (RFP) e.g. clarifications, pre-appointment BEP, level of effort etc.
- Evaluate and manage the BIM related IT deployment (hardware and software) and provide hands-on BIM software training for Project(s).
- Support the setup, development, configuration, establishment of the Common Data Environment (CDE) for Project use e.g. ProjectWise, BIM 360 etc.
- Develop and maintain specific BIM software template files to assure compliance to standards.
- Manage and monitor object(s) creation and maintain libraries according to the relevant project(s) and stage(s) needs based on the agreed LOD Matrix.
- Manage and monitor element catalogue according to the relevant project(s) and stage(s) needs based on the agreed LOD Matrix.
- Develop and enforce BIM documentation and workflow process standards. Develop and automate routines in BIM to support standards, quality, and productivity.
- Develop BIM specification(s) documentation and support integration with Tender(s) and Contract(s).
- Perform supply chain capacity and capability assessments, support the Tender process, and provide recommendations for Contract award(s).
- Develop, monitor, coordinate, and report on the development of Pre-and Post-appointment BIM Execution Plan, Task and Master Information Delivery Plan (TIDP and MIDP) for design delivery.
- Manage, support, and validate Project design delivery e.g. modeling, detailing, scheduling, and extraction(s). Develop the process, perform, measure, and ensure the highest quality for all BIM package submissions in accordance with Project standards and requirements during all Project stages.
SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:
Requirements include PC literacy, proficiency in utilizing CAD and other computer software used to complete design assignments.
Possess excellent English written skills.
Possess excellent oral communication skills with an ability to form effective relationships with Project Delivery Team, Client (Appointing Party), and Contractor (Lead Appointed Party) under time pressure.
Possess the ability to write letters, technical instructions, develop analytical reports and presentations
Thorough knowledge of:
- International Organization for Standardization (19650, 12006)
- British Standards BS/PAS Series (1192, 91)
- Common Data Environment
- Project Information Model Delivery
- Quality assurance compliance and validation
- Collaboration, coordination and clash/clearance detection and resolution
- Quantity Take Off / schedule creation.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in Design or Construction from a Civil Engineering discipline background.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in BIM Implementation on Major Projects or Program.
- Experience either from a consultant or Contractor environment on Transportation and Infrastructure Projects.
- Experience with ISO and UK BIM Standards
- Proficient in a range of BIM authoring, scripting, design review, coordination, simulations, and collaboration applications and/or platforms e.g. Revit, Civil 3D, Open Buildings Designer, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Cost X, Synchro, BIM 360, ProjectWise etc.
- Middle East/Gulf Countries experience preferred but not essential.
- Supervise and oversee the review, monitoring and reporting on the development of clash detection and resolution process and fully coordinated models with design leads.
- Monitor and support the data collection process and validate models for Construction Operation Building Information Exchange (COBie) for the design stage data drop(s) as required.
- Prepare validation reports for milestone BIM package submissions. Oversee the validation and export of model geometry and data to schedules for internal design and commercial activities.
- Support the quality department conducting audits and record non-conformance(s).
