The Department/College
The Department of Legal Studies is part of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences which is an interdisciplinary college offering both graduate and undergraduate programs, including nationally-recognized Master’s in Legal and Judicial Studies. It is also responsible of teaching Major and Elective courses in commercial and business law.
The Opportunity
The Department of Legal Studies at Zayed University invites applications for one (1) full-time position in Commercial Law or Business Law, with the condition that teaching is conducted in the English language. Candidates must hold a doctorate in Commercial Law, Business Law, or Private Law (a specialization in Commercial Law or Business Law would be an advantage). Faculty members are expected to fulfill teaching and scholarly requirements, provide service to the College and University, participate in the development, evaluation, and revision of the college curriculum, engage in the implementation of assessment of major learning outcomes, and actively engage in research activities leading to the publication of peer-reviewed articles and/or books in their area of specialization. Faculty also liaise with external constituents to advance the mission of the University within the UAE community.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will fully meet the following expectations for the position:
- A Ph.D. in Commercial Law, Business Law, or Private Law (a specialization in Commercial Law or Business Law would be advantageous).
- A proven record of excellence in baccalaureate-level teaching, with at least three years of experience as an Assistant Professor.
- An excellent record of teaching Commercial Law or Business Law in the English language.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English.
- Dedication to curricular innovation.
- A record of professional accomplishments, including peer-reviewed publications and/or presentations within the last three years.
- A commitment to a sustained research program and an interest in collaboration with other faculty members.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate web-based and/or digital technologies in the classroom.
- Willingness to provide service to the University and the College.
