Job Description:

MEP Inspector

Abu Dhabi, UAE

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Conducts inspections and tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
• Get involved in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing and documentation of all works of the project
• Oversee and inspect all mechanical, electrical & instrumentation work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards
• Attend to Inspection Requests (IR’s) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner
• Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations and writes daily diaries.
• Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract
• Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work
• Reports on installed quantities to verify applications for payment and change order work
• Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems, and reports to supervisor with proposed solution
• May provide technical guidance to junior inspectors
• Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports
• Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures
• Coordinate the works to ensure successful hand-over of the project

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a diploma in electrical engineering
• Minimum of 6 years of electromechanical construction work experience related on infrastructure, road and general landscaping projects.
• Experience in the construction supervision of infrastructure, landscaping and road , preferred in Abu Dhabi .
• Familiar with parks electrical systems, landscape lighting,  irrigation & portable water,  reservoirs / chambers, mechanical fittings and CCTV security systems
• Experience in dealing with emergency works and ability to deal with the public and coordinate with various relevant authorities.
• Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes in relation to the area of assignment
• Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
• Experience in water pumps and irrigation work
• Must be able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

• Proficiency within Microsoft Office, Project Management Software and internet search engines.
• Ability to comply with multitude of requirements as applicable to the project based on client and industry standards.
• Ability to use good judgment and work with others is required.
