Cardiac Electrophysiology Consultant

Job Description

Introduction: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cardiac Electrophysiology Consultant to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary healthcare team. As a leading provider of cardiovascular care, we offer state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive work environment. The successful candidate will specialize in diagnosing and treating arrhythmias, providing expert consultation to patients, and working closely with our cardiology and surgical teams to offer exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with arrhythmias and other cardiac electrophysiological conditions.
  • Perform diagnostic electrophysiology studies (EPS) and catheter ablation procedures, including but not limited to atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, ventricular tachycardia, and supraventricular tachycardia.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments and manage long-term care for patients with arrhythmias.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and other specialists in the development and implementation of personalized treatment plans.
  • Interpret results from diagnostic tests such as ECG, Holter monitoring, electrophysiology studies, and imaging studies.
  • Stay current with the latest advances in the field of cardiac electrophysiology, incorporating evidence-based practices and emerging technologies into patient care.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior physicians, fellows, and other healthcare staff in electrophysiology procedures and best practices.
  • Engage in patient education, ensuring they understand their condition, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, case discussions, and research projects as appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD, DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Cardiology and/or Cardiac Electrophysiology.
  • Fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology.
  • Proven experience in performing advanced electrophysiology procedures such as catheter ablation, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and device management.
  • Strong knowledge of arrhythmia mechanisms, treatment modalities, and electrophysiological testing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
