What will I be doing?
As a Sous Chef at the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre, you will play a vital role in crafting unique dining experiences. Working alongside our visionary Chef Patron, you will ensure the seamless operation of our culinary haven. Your passion for excellence will shine through as you take on the following key responsibilities:
- Assist in managing all kitchen operations, ensuring that the restaurant upholds its luxury dining standards.
- Lead and mentor kitchen team, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Support menu development and collaborate with the Chef Patron to innovate and evolve the culinary offerings.
- Ensure that all food served meets the highest levels of quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Manage inventory, food cost control, and kitchen organisation to optimise efficiency and maintain budgets.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, plating, and service coordination.
- Maintain a focus on exceeding guest expectations, aligning with the ambition of earning a Michelin Star and other global accolades.
- Stay updated with culinary trends and bring innovation to the Bull & Bear dining experience.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations, as well as HACCP standards.
- Create a supportive environment, fostering growth and development within the team.
- Uphold the brand standards of Waldorf Astoria and ensure the finest luxury dining experience for guests.

To excel in this exciting position, we invite you to embody the following attitudes, behaviors, skills, and values:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end, fine dining restaurant.
- A deep understanding of Michelin Star criteria and a passion for delivering culinary excellence.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and develop kitchen team.
- Expertise in menu development, food costing, and inventory management.
- Creativity and innovation in food preparation, presentation, and recipe development.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, luxury dining environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the team.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Previous experience working in a Michelin-starred or award-winning restaurant.
- Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications.
- Prior experience in a luxury hotel.
