Mixologist

Amazing opportunity for a talented mixologist to join our Food and Beverage Team. The successful applicant has the passion craftmanship and a personality making our guests feel both welcomed and cared for. Guests will seek from the mixologist the guidance and inspiration for the beverage choice based on taste and preference.

What are we looking for?

  • With a pleasant and welcoming manner
  • Knowledge of food and beverage systems, great understanding of beverages, and a passion to bartending
  • Oral and written fluency in English (additional language/s is an advantage)
  • Experience in a luxury 5* hotel, relevant experience within a similar environment Flexible and adaptable to different working conditions.
  • Certificate/ Diploma in Food and Beverage/ Hospitality Management
  • Computer and system literate
  • Smart presentation and appearance
  • Be motivated and a self-starter

What will you do?

  • Sets up the bar for daily operations, according to authorized procedures.
  • Inspects and cleans up bar and equipment in accordance with hygiene and safety standards and procedures.
  • Dispenses beverages per guest order, observing set standards in terms of time, mixture, and appearance if barman unavailable.
  • Checks on guest satisfaction by directly asking guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Monitors and manages the ordering of all beer, wine, spirits, and bar tools and equipment
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents , costing and preparation methods
  • Maintains stock, prepares, cures and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
  • Ensure that appropriate stock/par level of all bar items is constantly maintained
  • Utilize appropriate stemware/glassware as required by company standards, polish glassware, stock bar supplies to par levels
  • Have great knowledge of alcohol and alcohol history
  • Use one’s expert knowledge to create innovative drinks and cocktails that explore the boundaries of flavours and passion to experiment in mixing new drinks
  • Listens to guest feedback and ensures these are communicated to the F&B group.
  • Interact with clients and understand their needs.
  • Fulfil guest orders in an effective and organised manner.
  • Work with Lobby Lounge team to keep excellent service standards.
  • Be prepared to assist other Shangri-La colleagues/departments in a thoughtful manner.
  • Assist guests and colleagues in choosing the perfect drink option for each customer.
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness/orderliness at the bar and surrounding areas.
  • Empathetically listen to client queries/complaints and work with colleagues/Service Manager to find solutions.
