We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our Global Finance team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Role Overview:
The role supports the business finance function for MENAT Banking by providing effective finance support to enable the business to achieve and execute strategic goals and initiatives; ensuring appropriate controls are in place on close and reporting processes; supports the delivery of MI to assist in analyzing performance and identifying areas of financial opportunity for improving returns, costs efficiency, and capital usage.
The jobholder will be primarily responsible for reporting robust, timely and high-quality data for MENAT Banking; MI & performance analysis with the reporting to senior management, product heads and for general business consumption; overseeing production completed by the GFOC team; and providing complex ad-hoc analysis or project support as required by Senior Management or Finance leadership. The role is the main business partner to Banking CFIBC and RASF Product heads supporting them across performance management reporting, forecast development, and as well as a key role in ensuring alignment across Global, Regional, and Country Product teams.
Additionally, through the year, the role will assist with the planning and reporting governance framework for Banking, a key contact for MENAT sites as it relates to Banking performance, planning, and reporting; Auditor support and accounting partner specifically for deal reporting and will support transactional banking business (GTRF/GPS) as required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Reporting
– Ensure that all Group/Standard MI reports are made available to Senior Management in a timely manner.
– Preparation of complex / Ad Hoc reports and commentary where required.
– Providing insightful monthly analysis and commentaries on financial performance for various financial stakeholders and for Senior Banking Management forums. Analysis will focus on product level performance, including margin and volume analysis. Ensure business trends are being actioned.
– Preparation/ coordination of monthly Banking MENAT Exco pack, HBME Exco pack and support on financial performance for UAE Exco.
– Responsible for preparation and submission of forecast/ FRP with focus on but not limited to Investment Banking and Lending products; entity & asset growth; RWAs & ECLs forecast taking feedback from Wholesale Credit Risk and Special Credit Unit.
– Lead the UAE and MENAT pre-close monthly meetings with high-level comments on material items impacting performance.
– Perform the cost analysis for the Banking Pillar to analyse the month on month movement in cost and provide analysis on outlook for business to manage the costs.
• Partnering
– Work closely with Regional SP&ST team, Wholesale Business Finance Planning team and Global Banking Finance on analysis / commentary submissions for forecast.
– Ensuring high level of teamwork with colleagues from GTRF, GPS, Regional/Global finance Teams and other Regional/Global stakeholders including COO / HR / Risk etc.
– Versed in all Pillar finance operations with ability to rotate and back fill support as required.
– Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets & meet internal customer expectations fully and consistently.
– Ad Hoc analysis and problem-solving approach leveraging skills across teams to delivery win-win solutions.
• Oversight
– Provide guidance to the offshore team to ensure optimum utilization of time and resources.
– Provide guidance to country Business Finance teams on forecast and other support.
– Ensure appropriate controls and reporting across Month End close highlighting issues and drive resolutions through partnering across Finance, IT, and the business.
– Control point on all intercompany invoices and external 3rd party invoices partnering with business on all aged accounts for remediation/resolution.
• Communication and collaboration
– Highlights issues on reporting, accuracy, or control breaches and works across teams to support timely resolution.
Experience & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree is a must to obtain UAE visa.
• +5 years of experience in large international financial institutions. Qualified accountant nice to have.
• Strong team player who can work independently and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
• Proficiency in TM1, MI Actuals and source data systems.
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills which will allow to liaise with executive level individuals.
