Strategy Intern – Food
Careem is building the Everything App for the greater Middle East, making it easier than ever to move around, order food and groceries, manage payments, and more. About The Team
You will get to be part of a dynamic and autonomous team from Careem veterans to new tigers who joined on a mission to build Careem Food all aligned on the same values of ownership, shooting to the moon and being of service to customers, partners, colleagues and captains.
About the Role
The team is looking for an enthusiastic and driven team player who is looking to strengthen his/her strategic thinking skills. It is a high visibility role and exciting learning experience with tangible opportunity for business impact and execution flavour.
What You’ll Do
- Support in strategy execution & project management from day 1
- Independently conduct competitive intelligence analyses and showcase aggregate outcomes to the broader team
- Independently conduct analyses, aggregate data needed to answer key business questions, work with analytics team to refine analyses and derive insights
- Define and explore opportunities for process operationalization and scaling
- Build critical thinking and an analytical approach to solving strategic problems
- Get exposure across product, operations, finance and commercial teams across geographies to translate strategy to execution;
- Keep a tab on market trends and insights across FoodTech ecosystem, and identify opportunities for Careem
What You’ll Need
The ideal candidate would be someone who is passionate about strategy, analytics and project/program management. Someone ready to roll-up their sleeves and embark a hands-on, high-exposure and fast-paced learning experience!
Additional skillsets include:
- Ownership, High energy & Self driven
- “Figure-it-out” mindset: Is solution-oriented and practical
- Is passionately curious about the business and the market
- Proficiency in Google Suite / Microsoft office (G-Sheet, Excel and similar software tools)
- Proficiency in query/coding tool, e.g. Python, SQL, …
- Should be tech / net savvy – have a flair for E-commerce / Internet led business
- UAE driving license would be added advantage
- Candidate will need to be on their own Visa
- Languages: Arabic
