System Administrator
Overview:
Prepare, install, setup and administrate all servers and cloud base operating systems, monitor its performance; and provide technical support in order to support the IT operations of Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority’s (ADAA) in an efficient manner
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and update of the section related policy,
procedures manual, delegation of authority, systems user manuals and standard forms, and
ensure alignment with ADAA’s overall policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and update of the sections’ strategic, budget
and procurement, and operational plans ensuring alignment with the department and sector
strategy and objectives, and ADAA’s mission and vision.
- Assist in the development of the section Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure to meet
individual KPIs to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
B. Operations (with sub-headings)
IT Governance and Strategy:
- Implement IT operational standards across the authority which will include regular communication and budgeting to achieve maximum efficiencies and synergies in IT operations.
- Contribute in development of IT policies, procedures and operational standards for IT Infrastructure in accordance with industry’s best practices and implement across ADAA to achieve maximum efficiencies and synergies in IT applications.
Operation Efficiency:
- Provide technical support services for all infrastructure systems in coordination with the Information Security team ensuring adherence to the Authority’s approved Service Level Agreement (SLA) Matrix.
- Maintain and monitor the operation, availability and performance of all Infrastructure systems to resolve the issues and ensure business continuity.
- Operate and monitor systems and ensure continuous update in accordance with the IT policies, procedures Industry’s standards, and best practices to support IT business continuity in an efficient and effective manner.
- Monitor the performance of ADAA’s IT infrastructure by using proactive monitoring systems, response to technical malfunctions and accidents immediately, and develop appropriate solutions in coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan and implement data backup strategies including but not limited to restoring/recovering data on demand or following any incident to comply with the Authority’s business continuity plan.
- Review Microsoft volume licences and declare the top-up and maintain the software assurance.
- Carry out planning, design, installation, configuration, testing, upgrade, monitoring and maintenance, implementation and administration of IT infrastructure systems and servers to support IT operations.
- Carry out evaluation, acquisition and installation of hardware and software required to enhance and comply with SLAs for network operations.
- Identify information system operational requirements and risks and recommend solutions to achieve optimum information security.
- Assist in the selection process of the vendors to meet ADAA’s operational needs and obtain both commercial and technical deals.
- Implement IT disaster recovery plan for IT Infrastructure as required to ensure adequate back up, availability of all information and business continuity in case of disruption or emergencies.
- Implement information security policies and apply security controls to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
- Ensure the Authority’s IT systems are up to date with the latest technology, compliant with licensing laws, fully protected to ensure maximum network security and provides secure access to the network for remote users.
- Monitor the security of sensitive information that is stored on storage devices and security of disaster recovery sites in order to preserve information.
- Ensure that all users have the requisite authorization and are aware of their responsibilities before granting access to the information systems.
- Keep abreast of new technologies and solutions to ensure the entity is aware of the modern devices and software to safeguard the security of information.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Studies or in Information Systems or computer engineering or a related discipline is essential.
4 – 6 years of relevant experience in IT strategy formulation, policies, processes, systems development and infrastructure or equivalent work experience.
Preferred:
- Basic knowledge of CISM (ISACA), ISO 27001, SSA16, CNE, ITIL etc. is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) status or CISCO certified internetwork
expert (CCIE)
desirable.
