Internship – Accounting Assistant (Emirati Nationals Only)
Job Description

Job Summary.
This intern position is within the WT Shared Service team and will support the Accounts Payable/Intercompany team with various day to day activities and month end close responsibilities. Under the supervision of our staff, the Accounting Intern can expect to participate in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, analyze actual financial data, learn more about effective communication within the organization, and assist with other accounting activities. You should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Process 3 way P.O. matching invoices
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Handle vendor correspondence via email or phone
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Review company credit card logs
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Perform other duties as required to support Accounting Department
- Assist to compile and analyze financial information such as IC purchases, sales revenue, markup, and expenses.
- Communicates and coordinates with NOV affiliate partners to record IC transactions, analyze IC balances, and propose clearings.
- Assist in intercompany reconciliation, including Inter-Unit markup.
- Assist in booking invoices and settlement.
- Perform IC AR functions which includes collection of IC invoices.
- Generates monthly intercompany billings (Intercompany chargebacks).
- Assist in journal entries to the general ledger (accruals).
- Updates the Open Items lists and ensures that IC balances are properly aged.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end tasks
- Assists with fulfilling audit requests (internal audit/external audit/SOX)
- Other duties and special projects as assigned

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:
Essential:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting (Must be a recent graduate)
Desirable:
Professional Finance related qualification like master’s degree in finance, CA, CPA is preferred
Training
Accounting interns will receive on-the-job training to help them learn the specific processes and procedures of the company. This training will help interns learn the specific software and computer systems they will use while working for the company. They will also receive instruction on how to complete tasks and interact with other employees.
